Vine figs wrapped in bacon

Ingredients for 16 servings:

  • 4 figs, fresh
  • 100 ml red wine
  • 60 g cheese
  • 1 pack of bacon (belly bacon), Black Forest
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Wash, trim, and quarter the figs, then let them soak in the red wine for about 30 minutes. Remove and drain. Finely dice the cheese and gently press it into the flesh of the fig quarters. Wrap the figs in bacon and secure each one with a small wooden skewer. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and fry the bacon-wrapped figs until crispy on all sides. Serve warm.
