the world’s best walnut cake, quick and easy

Using a hand mixer, combine sugar, flour, butter (or margarine), vanilla sugar, and egg yolks into a dough. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the dough. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread 2/3 of the dough onto the baking sheet. Add the cocoa powder to the remaining third and mix until smooth. Now, using a teaspoon, place small “mounds” into the light-colored dough (it should ultimately look like a spotted cow). Place a walnut in each brown space and press it in lightly. Bake at approximately 180 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat) for 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the cup of milk. Once the cake is finished baking, immediately pour the hot milk over it and return it to the oven for another 5 minutes with the oven off (door closed). The milk will make it wonderfully moist and soft.
