Walnut patties

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 200 g walnut kernels
  • 100 g beans, black, pre-cooked
  • 30 g beetroot, raw or cooked
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 30 g parsley
  • 1 egg(s) or approx. 10 g chia seeds as an egg substitute
  • 5 tbsp buckwheat flour, approx.
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • some oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Chop the walnuts. Mash the black beans, leaving some chunks. Grate the beetroot. Finely dice the onion. Grate the garlic. Chop the parsley. Combine the prepared ingredients in a bowl with the egg, buckwheat flour, Sriracha sauce, salt, and pepper. Add more buckwheat flour as needed until the desired consistency is reached. Heat a pan with oil over medium-high heat. Form burger patties from the mixture and fry in the pan until they are the desired color on both sides. Important: Do not turn the patties over too soon to avoid them falling apart. Tip: For burgers, cut open buns and toast the inside. Suitable toppings include lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.
