Warm up the sauerkraut gently: you should keep this in mind
You don’t have to pay much attention to heating up sauerkraut. It’s just important that it’s a gentle warm-up with little heat.
- Whether freshly prepared sauerkraut or sauerkraut from a jar – when heating up, it’s important that it takes place gently.
- If fresh sauerkraut is heated at too high a temperature, it not only loses its vitamins but also its taste.
Warming up the sauerkraut: This is how it works in the pot or in the microwave
This chapter tells you exactly how to proceed.
- To reheat, place the sauerkraut in a saucepan and heat on low. Stir occasionally.
- For a particularly fine taste, you can add a sip of juice, for example, apple or orange juice.
- You can also reheat sauerkraut in the microwave. Put the herb in a microwave-safe container, add some water and stir everything. Then cover the vessel and heat the sauerkraut at 600 watts for a maximum of two minutes.
