Warming Up Mushrooms – Is That Allowed?

Warming up mushrooms – good or bad?

Mushrooms are perishable and don’t last long if stored poorly. But with refrigerators and the like, this is usually no longer a problem. The advice not to reheat mushrooms is outdated. But it is important that you cool the mushrooms quickly.

  • Prepare the mushrooms freshly and correctly and cool the leftovers as soon as possible after consumption.
  • Place a plate of mushrooms in the fridge and cover with cling film. This will last up to two days. After that, you should throw away the leftovers.
  • Heat your next meal to at least 70 degrees.
  • However, you should not reheat your mushroom dish more than once: This damages the protein enzymes, which can lead to diarrhea vomiting, and the like.
