Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 250 g streaky bacon
- 1 liter meat broth, hot
- 4 carrots
- 4 small potatoes
- 1 apple
- 2 small pears
- 300 g beans, green, frozen
- 2 sprigs savory or 1 tsp. dried savory
- 450 g beans, white, from the can
- 1 bunch of parsley
- Salt and pepper, white
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Cut the bacon into large cubes. Heat the hot meat broth in a large pot, add the bacon, and simmer for 20 minutes. Grate and slice the carrots. Peel and quarter the potatoes. Peel, quarter, and core the apple and pears. Add the prepared ingredients to the pot along with the green beans and savory, and simmer over low heat for another 20 minutes. Drain the white beans, add them to the stew, and simmer for another 10 minutes. Finely chop the parsley. Remove the savory sprigs, season the stew with salt and pepper, and serve sprinkled with the parsley.
