What Happens When We Lose Weight Fast

We usually don’t worry about what happens to our bodies when we lose weight quickly. We see the ultimate goal in front of us: to lose n number of hated pounds as quickly as possible. Women don’t think about it when they force their bodies to lose weight quickly in a week or a few days before a special event or holiday. And for nothing.

It is worth understanding that the body of each person over the centuries and even thousands of years has independently managed to develop a unique system that allows this body to adapt to the constantly changing external conditions of its existence.

And you will agree that the conditions of existence of the human body have not always been favorable.

Actually, that is why a kind of “emergency” system of our body looks something like this: if the body receives enough food (so that it has a surplus that is not consumed as energy fuel), the body begins to store it, forming fat deposits, which in case of a lack of food can be used to survive. If not enough or little food enters the body, the body is forced to use up the fat reserves it has, and we lose weight quite quickly.

If, after some newfangled diet, in which you lost five or even ten kilograms, the body begins to receive too much food again, it begins to urgently replenish what was previously lost and so on indefinitely. In this case, of course, we are not talking about proper, healthy, and regular nutrition at all.

Undoubtedly, at present, the basic conditions of existence have changed significantly, which means that it is quite possible that if such conditions of existence continue for a sufficiently long period of time (say, at least three or five thousand years), the human body will most likely be able to develop a completely different system of survival. For now, we have to live with this system and try to adapt to it.

So, we are still very interested in what exactly can happen in the human body at the moment when we start losing weight too quickly. As you know, rapid weight loss can trigger a kind of emergency mechanism in our body. At the same time, as soon as the usual amount of nutrients begins to actively enter our body again, they begin to be absorbed in a completely different way than they usually are. In such a situation (when our body’s emergency mechanism is triggered), most of the nutrients can immediately be used to replenish the so-called strategic reserve of our body.

As a reminder, the strategic food reserve (survival) in the human body is commonly known to be the banal fat that is deposited on the hips, abdomen, or buttocks.

So, if we start losing weight too quickly, we trigger a unique mechanism of really increased, so to speak, high-speed fat formation.

What happens when we lose weight fast: weight gain after a diet

And it is for this simple reason that most experienced and highly qualified doctors and nutritionists categorically do not recommend the rash use of those numerous diets after which our weight loss can occur at an excessively rapid pace. After all, it is after such diets or dangerous weekly fasts that your excess weight may not just reappear but will most likely return to you with a large margin.

In addition, excessively rapid loss of extra pounds is definitely the most severe stress for any human body. And that is why, literally at the first opportunity, our body will strive not only to replenish everything lost as quickly as possible, but also the body will strive to create a new more reliable supply of fat in case such a stressful or emergency situation ever happens again.

In fact, this situation is likely to happen again with almost 100% probability, because most women usually want to regain their beautiful and lost forms as quickly as possible. But what should we do in such a situation, when the emergency mechanism of our body is still running?

The quick loss of extra pounds: lose weight the right way

Well, first of all, it is very important to forget forever and not return to those diets that are dangerous to health, on which the described mechanism was launched and on which we manage to lose weight as quickly as possible. Women in this situation need not just some kind of effective diet, but rather a completely new, healthy lifestyle. A lifestyle that will actually help a woman not only lose weight, but also correct and normalize her entire metabolism in a timely manner and, most importantly, in a complete manner.

A woman who wants to return her body to its ideal shape must first be able to develop a diet that can be called an adequate, fully balanced diet (healthy eating), and it is also important to increase the level of daily physical activity along with such a diet. The latter is useful not only for weight loss but also for overall health.

And believe me, in this case, your body will definitely not have additional stress from losing weight, which means that it will not need to convert all the nutrients it receives into new fatty deposits as quickly as possible.

In fact, it is safe to say that if we start losing weight too quickly, we will almost inevitably gain weight later, literally immediately after stopping the wrong diet.

But, if we do manage to balance our diet, and switch to a healthy diet, the excess weight will certainly disappear more slowly, but you can be sure that it will never return.
