Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 200 g sourdough, wheat sourdough with whole wheat flour
- 350 g wheat flour, type 550
- 125 ml water, lukewarm, approx.
- 40 g butter, soft or clarified butter
- 1 tbsp honey
- 10 g salt
- 1 tsp baking malt (optional)

a delicious alternative to yeast toast
Knead all ingredients in the kitchen mixer until a smooth dough forms, let stand for 30 minutes, then knead again by hand. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a sheet, then roll it into a rope, cut it into 4 equal pieces, and place it in the baking pan with the cut side facing the long side. Let the dough rise until it has significantly increased in volume; this can take up to 3 hours. Bake the toast in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
