Onion sauce with smoked salt

First, finely chop the onion and brown it in a little oil. Then drain the oil and add the onion along with all the ingredients (except the smoked salt) to a pot and simmer over low heat. After about 70–90 minutes, the sauce should have reduced sufficiently and reached the desired consistency. Season with smoked salt about 10 minutes before serving. Caution: Depending on the type of salt used, it can become very intense with increasing cooking time. It’s best to use a little less at first.
