Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g white bread (loaf pan), sliced
  • 250 g cheese (Emmental), sliced
  • 200 g ham, cooked
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Nutmeg, ground
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Mama Alexandra’s style

Layer the white bread, ham, and cheese in a layered pattern in a greased baking dish. Whisk the eggs, milk, and cream, season with spices to taste, and pour over the top. Preheat the oven (convection oven) to 180°C and bake for about 20-30 minutes until golden brown. Check several times to make sure it’s not overcooking. Serve with a green salad.
