White cabbage and minced meat pan with mushrooms and cheddar

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 2 onions
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • Oil for frying
  • 500 g mushrooms
  • 1 kg minced beef
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp caraway powder
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1.2 kg white cabbage
  • 400 ml broth
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 150g Cheddar
  • 200 g sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Clean and finely chop the cabbage, leeks, and mushrooms. Peel and dice the onions. Finely chop the parsley and chili. Finely slice the spring onions. Heat the oil in a pan. Sauté the onions and chili, then press in the garlic. Add the minced meat and spices and fry until crumbly. Then add the mushrooms. Transfer everything to a large pot. Mix with the cabbage and stock and simmer for 30 minutes. Finally, stir in the parsley, spring onions, sour cream, and Cheddar cheese.
