White cabbage lasagna

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g white cabbage
  • 500 g carrot(s)
  • 125 g diced bacon or ham (for vegetarian versions, simply omit)
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 1 tbsp oil, for frying
  • 250 ml water
  • 150 g yogurt
  • 100 ml cream
  • salt and pepper
  • Caraway, ground
  • 250 g lasagna sheet(s) without pre-cooking
  • 100 g cheese, grated hard cheese

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

hearty lasagna of a different kind for cold winter days

Clean the white cabbage and cut into fairly small pieces. Clean the carrots and slice them. Heat the oil in a pan. Sauté the diced onion. Add the diced bacon and let it cook. After a short time, add the carrots and cabbage and sauté vigorously for 5 minutes. Gradually add the water. Mix the yogurt and cream and season generously with pepper, salt, and caraway seeds. Remove the vegetables from the heat and stir in the sauce. Season everything again to taste. Grease a baking dish. Alternate the vegetables and lasagna sheets. Finish with the vegetables. Sprinkle with grated cheese as the top layer and bake everything in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 45 minutes.
