Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g white cabbage
  • 75 g lean bacon
  • 2 onions
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 4 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper, white

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Finely shred the white cabbage and sprinkle with salt. Briefly mash it with the heel of your hand. Cut the bacon into thin strips and fry in the heated oil. Peel, halve, and slice the onions, and add them to the bacon. Sauté the onions until translucent. Add the vinegar, sugar, and caraway seeds and bring to a boil. Season with pepper and pour the hot marinade over the cabbage. Mix everything together and let it stand for about 1 hour.
