with shortcrust pastry base, for a casserole dish of 26 x 17 cm, makes approx. 16 pieces
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat) and line a 26 x 17 cm baking dish with aluminum foil and grease with margarine. For the shortcrust pastry base, beat the butter and sugar for about 1 minute. Then stir in the egg and finally the flour. Continue stirring until a smooth dough forms. Remove the dough from the bowl with your hands and knead again. Then place it in the prepared dish and press it into a flat base. Prick it several times with a fork. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the marzipan mixture and butter in the microwave for about 1 minute at 600 watts until both are soft. Beat both with a hand mixer for 1-2 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and eggs and beat for another 2 minutes until smooth. Pour the marzipan mixture onto the pre-baked base and shake until smooth. Sprinkle the surface with flaked almonds. Bake for another 25 minutes at 160°C (top/bottom heat) on the middle rack until the surface is golden brown. Allow the marzipan slices to cool almost completely on a wire rack. Melt the butter and white chocolate in the microwave for about 2 minutes at 600W. Stir until smooth and allow to cool slightly. Using a tablespoon, spread the chocolate glaze in thin strips over the surface of the slices. Allow everything to cool completely and then cut into 16 triangles.
