Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g whole wheat flour
  • 1 cube of yeast, fresh
  • ½ tbsp syrup (grape syrup)
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 400 ml water
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Put the flour in a bowl and make a well. Add the fresh yeast and grape syrup to the center, sprinkle salt on the sides, and knead the dough, gradually adding the water. It won’t be a stiff dough. Sprinkle plenty of flour over the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 30-45 minutes. Sprinkle the work surface with flour, knead the dough, shape it into a round, and place it in the pan. Sprinkle with flour and cut it crosswise, then let it rise for another 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 220°C and bake the dough at 220°C for about 10 minutes. Then reduce the heat to 200°C and bake for another 15 minutes. After that, turn the heat down to 180°C and bake the bread for another 10 minutes. Tip: You can fill a heatproof bowl with water and place it in the oven to create moisture.
