Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g spelt flour (wholemeal flour)
  • 150 g mixed seeds (e.g. linseed, sesame, sunflower seeds, oat flakes)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 packet of dry yeast or 1/2 cube of fresh yeast
  • 500 ml water, warm
  • Fat for the mold (butter or oil)
  • Grains for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wholemeal bread without malt and very healthy

Mix the flour, salt, dry yeast, and mixed seeds thoroughly. Dissolve the honey in warm water and add the liquid to the flour and seeds mixture, then knead everything well into a smooth dough. Grease a suitable baking dish with butter or oil, sprinkle with seeds, and pour in the dough. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius. Reduce the oven temperature to approximately 220 degrees Celsius. Immediately place the bread in the hot oven and bake for approximately 1.5 hours. To ensure a firm crust, place a bowl of water in the oven. Turn the baked bread out of the dish and cover with a tea towel to keep it nice and moist.
