In addition, you can edit them individually for each drink by grinding them yourself. After all, you need different ground beans for filter coffee than for espresso. Grind coffee yourself or buy it: that’s why manual work is worthwhile

When you grind the coffee, you increase the surface area of ​​the bean. In this way, you ensure that the aromatic substances are optimally released or extracted from the bean during the subsequent brewing process.

However, grinding also starts the volatilization of sensitive aromatic substances. The powder has lost a lot of its taste just 15 minutes later. Purchased ground coffee is therefore characterized by a significantly weaker profile. Grind the coffee yourself before preparing it, and enjoy your cappuccino, espresso tonic, and more to their fullest.

By individually grinding, you can also optimize the taste of the various hot drinks. Ready-made products only have one degree of grinding. However, it is not suitable for every type of preparation! For example, espresso requires finer beans than coffee from the French press. After all, the former is brewed for a much shorter time – and finer powder releases aroma faster. The general rule here is: the longer the coffee steeps, the coarser it has to be ground.

There are several options to choose from when it comes to grinding coffee for the French Press and Co. at home. The best known are the manual and electric coffee grinders. Your convenience decides which machine you use to grind your coffee. Much more important is the built-in grinder! Ideally, you should choose devices with disc or conical grinders. These grind beans gently, finely, and evenly.
