Wiener in pretzel dough

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 sausages (Wiener, cheese crackers or grilled sausages)
  • 1 pack of pretzels, frozen (dough for home baking)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

for children and picnics

Place the pretzel dough pieces (available in the freezer section of most supermarkets) on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let them thaw; this takes 30 minutes to 1 hour. Once thawed, remove the pretzel mold and shape the dough pieces into a long snake. Starting at one end of the sausage, wrap the dough snakes around the sausage until no part of the sausage is visible. Stretch the thicker piece of dough slightly so that it thins out as it is wrapped and covers the sausage evenly. One piece of dough is enough for one Wienerle. If you are using smaller sausages, such as Nuremberg bratwurst, one piece is enough for two sausages. Bake the wrapped sausages in the oven at 180°C for 20 to 30 minutes. The sausages in pretzel dough are delicious hot or cold. They are ideal for a child’s birthday party or to take along to a picnic, picnic, or snack.
