Wild boar steaks

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 wild boar steaks (4 cm thick)
  • 2 cl whiskey (bourbon)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • some salt and pepper from the mill
  • 4 m.-sized banana(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Drizzle the wild boar steaks with whiskey, cover, and let stand for 15 minutes. Heat the butter in a pan and fry the steaks for about 5 minutes on each side. The meat should still be pink inside. Season with salt, pepper, and a few drops of whiskey. Keep warm on a serving platter. Fry the peeled and halved bananas in the same pan until golden brown (add a little more butter if necessary) and place them on the platter with the steaks. Serve with white bread and Cumberland sauce.
