Ingredients

  • 125 g Butter
  • 150 g Flour
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 liter Milk
  • Vanilla sugar
  • Mastic

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan and then add the flour. From now on, always stir well with a whisk. The milk is now gradually added until the desired consistency is achieved. Similar to a pudding. Finally, add sugar, vanilla sugar or, best of all, mastic to taste. The whole thing is then put aside.
  • The pudding also tastes great as a cake filling. E.g. Spread the baking pan lined with rusks and the still hot pudding on it and place in the cold or, as shown in the picture, on a thin sponge cake / sponge cake. Tip: Cling film directly on the pudding, prevents skin formation.

mastic

  • Mastix is the resin of the mastic pistachio trees. You can get it in the well-stocked Turkish supermarket. Either you chop it up into powder or you dissolve it in very hot milk / water.
