Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 cube of yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 500 g wheat flour (wholemeal)
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp rapeseed oil
- Flour for the work surface
- Milk, low-fat for brushing
- e.g. pumpkin seeds
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes
for 1 loaf with approx. 15 slices
Crumble the yeast, mix with sugar and a little lukewarm water, and let it rise briefly. Mix with flour, salt, oil, and 300 ml water. Knead well on a floured surface, adding a little more water if necessary. Form the dough into a ball, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for one hour. Knead the dough again well, shape it into a loaf, and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Cover and brush with a little milk. Let it rise in a warm place for another 40 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the bread on the second-lowest rack for about 40 minutes. Brush with milk. If you like, you can knead a handful of pumpkin seeds into the dough.
