Yogurt-tomato-garlic dip

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g natural yogurt
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 dashes lemon juice from a fresh lemon
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • n. B. Spice(s), e.g. oregano, basil, paprika, cayenne pepper
  • some olive oil for frying

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

simple and delicious

Brown the garlic cloves in a pan with a little olive oil, then add the tomato paste and brown it. Pour the yogurt into a bowl and pour the contents of the pan into the yogurt (along with the oil). Add the lemon juice and season to taste. For my taste, I only add a little pepper and cayenne pepper, but add plenty of salt, basil (freshly chopped or dried), oregano, and paprika. Mix the dip well and refrigerate until ready to serve. Stir again before serving and garnish with some basil. The dip is ideal as an appetizer with bread, or with baked potatoes, for grilling, or with vegetable sticks.
