Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- Olive oil for frying
- 500 g minced meat, mixed
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- salt and pepper
- Oregano, dried
- 250 g Yufka dough sheets or filo dough
Instructions
Working time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Peel and finely dice the garlic and onions. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the diced onions and garlic until translucent. Add the minced meat to the pan and fry until crispy. Add the tomato paste and continue frying for about 1-2 minutes. Season the minced meat with oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the filling cool slightly. Preheat the oven to 160°C (convection oven). Cut the yufka pastry sheets into rectangles approximately 20 x 15 cm long, or into narrower strips or triangles if you prefer. Brush one rectangle with olive oil, place a second one on top so that it overlaps by about 2-3 cm, and turn both over, oiled side out. Pour the minced meat mixture into the yufka dough. Roll up the yufka with the minced meat filling and gently press the ends together, like a candy. Place the Yufka “candies” next to each other on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. Tip: The finished Yufka candies are also great eaten cold, for example, as a finger food snack.
