Zucchini in cheese batter

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large zucchini
  • Salt
  • 4 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp flour + some flour for turning
  • 50 g cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper
  • e.g. garlic, crushed
  • 5 tbsp sour cream
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • n. B. Dill
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Wash the zucchini, pat dry, and cut into 5 mm thick slices. Season with salt and let rest for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the dip. In a bowl, combine the sour cream with dill, garlic, salt, and pepper. Prepare the batter. Whisk together the eggs, sour cream, flour, and salt, then stir in the grated cheese. Dry the zucchini slices thoroughly, then coat them first in flour, then in the batter. Fry them in plenty of oil (not too hot) until golden brown on both sides. Drain well on kitchen paper. Serve with a green salad.
