Onion sauce with malt beer

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 250 ml malt beer
  • 150 ml broth, clear
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Peel the onions, halve them, and slice them into thin strips. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions. Add the tomato paste and sauté. Deglaze with the malt beer and stock and simmer for about 15 minutes. Season the onion sauce with soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Blend the cornstarch with a little water until smooth and use to thicken the sauce.
