Kaspressknödel

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g dumpling bread
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 200 g cheese (beer cheese)
  • 2 potatoes, boiled
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • Flour
  • Fat, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Soup garnish

Whisk together the eggs and milk and pour over the dumpling bread. Finely chop and fry the onion. Finely dice the cheese. Chop the potatoes. Add the onion, cheese, and potatoes to the dumpling mixture. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix the ingredients well, adding a little flour to thicken the mixture. Form into patties and fry in hot fat. Serve in hot beef broth. The Kaspressknödel will keep in the refrigerator for several days. Simply bring to a boil with the broth and serve.
