Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 kg Flour, smooth
- 2 packets of yeast (dry yeast)
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp salt
- 500 ml water, lukewarm
- 1 egg(s)
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
enough for 4 pieces
Knead the flour with the dry yeast, salt, olive oil, and water to form a dough (it’s best to put all the ingredients in a bowl and knead). Then let it rise in a warm place for about half an hour. After it has risen, divide the dough into 4 pieces. Roll each out and shape it into a baguette. Now preheat the oven to 200°C fan/convection oven. While the oven is preheating, let the baguettes rise for another half hour. Brush with a beaten egg before baking. Bake the breads for about 20 minutes (until they are browned). My personal variations: You can sprinkle the baguette with cheese and then bake it. If you want an onion baguette, simply roast an onion with a parsley and garlic herb cube (available from Maggi or Knorr) and add it to the dough after the first rise. Then let the dough rise again. Overall, there are no limits to the possibilities, as this recipe is very universal.
