Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg apples
  • 1 kg mixed fruits (dried fruits)
  • 200 g sugar
  • 250 g fig(s)
  • 200 g raisins
  • 200 g candied orange peel
  • 200 g candied lemon peel
  • 200 g almond(s), peeled
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 ½ packets of baking powder
  • 5 tbsp rum
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 10 tbsp condensed milk
  • 1 pack of gingerbread spice

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours

Coarsely grate the peeled and cored apples. Combine the sugar with the cocoa powder and gingerbread spice and stir into the apple mixture. Dice the figs and dried fruit and stir them into the mixture along with the washed raisins, candied orange peel, and lemon peel. Drizzle with rum and let stand for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight). Add the peeled almonds (whole or halved, depending on your taste). Mix the flour with the baking powder and knead everything into a dough (adding more flour if needed). Shape into large or small loaves as desired, brush with canned milk on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, and bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 1 hour.
