Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 15 flowers, 15 fragrant rose petals
  • 250 ml red wine, sweet
  • 750 ml water
  • 4 lemon(s), the juice
  • 2 pieces of ginger
  • 1 kg gelling sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 15 minutes

Separate the rose petals and wash them briefly and carefully in cold water. Drain and place in a large, sealable bowl. Add the red wine, water, lemon juice, and ginger, cover, and let steep overnight. Heat the mixture to boiling point and strain. Combine the liquid with the gelling sugar, bring to a boil, and simmer for four minutes while stirring. Pour into jars while hot and seal immediately.
