Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 rolls
  • 250 ml milk
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Butter or clarified butter for frying
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

Halve the rolls and slice finely. Mix the eggs with the milk, vanilla sugar, and salt and pour over the sliced ​​rolls. Ensure the milk is evenly distributed. Let stand for 10 minutes. Heat butter, or better yet, clarified butter, in a pan. Add the bread dough to the hot oil and brown lightly. Turn over and finish cooking, tearing with two forks. Sprinkle sugar over the top. If you like, you can use cinnamon sugar and stir in raisins. Plum compote goes well with this dish.
