Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g dough, bread dough or yeast dough (possibly from the baker or homemade)
  • 50 g onion(s), peeled, sliced
  • 250 g cheese, Apenzeller- in small cubes
  • 50 g flour
  • 3 dl milk
  • 1 dl cream (full cream)
  • 2 eggs
  • some salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • ½ tbsp butter

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

spicy warm cheese pie with Appenzeller cheese

Melt the butter in a non-stick pan and sauté the onions in it, set aside and let cool slightly. Line a round baking tray (27 cm diameter) with the dough, spread the sautéed, cooled onions on top. Spread the cheese evenly. For the icing: Mix the milk, cream, eggs and spices well with a mixer and slowly add the flour while stirring. Spread the icing over the cake and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 25 minutes. Until the top is nicely browned! If you like, you can also add a little garlic and use puff pastry instead of bread or yeast dough. Serve with a salad.
