Ralf's chocolate-covered kumquats

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 20 kumquats (baby oranges)
  • 200 g white chocolate coating
  • 200 g dark chocolate coating

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

very simple but effective

Remove the kumquats from the package and rinse with hot water. The skin is usually waxed, which is edible, but prevents the chocolate from sticking. Rub the fruit dry, kneading the baby oranges a little to make them sweeter. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Thread the fruit onto toothpicks and coat 10 pieces in white chocolate and 10 pieces in dark chocolate. Place the chocolate-coated fruit on a very cold baking sheet. Once completely cool, you can remove the kumquats from the sheet with a knife. It’s best to eat the fruit in one bite, allowing the acidity of the fruit to blend with the sweet chocolate. Without toothpicks, you can also refrigerate them in tins or ship them by mail.
