The perfect currywurst

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 large grilled sausages
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 can of tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 250 ml orange juice
  • Broth, granulated
  • 2 star anise
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Simple and delicious

Brown the roasted sausages on all sides and set aside. Heat olive oil in a saucepan. Briefly sauté the tomato paste over medium heat. Stir in the curry powder and cayenne pepper and deglaze with the orange juice. Stir in some granulated stock and add star anise. Bring to a boil and cook for two minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar. If the sauce gets too thick, thin with a little water. Slice the roasted sausages, add them to the sauce, and heat them through. We serve them with fries, or just baguette for parties. It’s easy to prepare and can be made in large quantities for parties.
