Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 small onion(s)
- 8 g butter
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp vinegar
- 5 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard, medium hot
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp curry
- 4 rolls
- 4 sausages
- Oil for frying, or butter for the sausages
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
For the sauce, dice the onion, melt the butter in a saucepan, and fry the onion until crispy. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the sugar to the onions and let it caramelize. Deglaze with the vinegar. Add the ketchup, mustard, curry powder, and salt and simmer for about 60 seconds. Bake the rolls according to the package instructions (you can also use regular rolls, but they should be warm and crispy). Fry the sausages in oil or butter. Cut the rolls open, place the sausages in the rolls, and add the sauce.
