Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g lean minced meat
  • ¼ cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • some paprika powder, hot
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 onion(s), red, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp salt
  • some pepper
  • 1 cup natural yogurt
  • 1 tsp mint, chopped
  • 1 tsp dill, chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, sliced
  • ½ cucumber(s), thinly sliced
  • some salt and pepper
  • 1 pita bread(s) (or 4 pita pockets)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

with feta meatball and yogurt sauce

Mix the minced meat with feta cheese, oregano, onions, garlic, salt, paprika, and pepper. Form the minced meat mixture into 4 thin meatballs and refrigerate. Mix the yogurt with mint leaves and dill in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate the bowl with yogurt. Fry the meatballs in olive oil on both sides until golden brown. If using pita bread, cut it into 4 equal pieces. Top a slice of bread with tomato, cucumber, a little yogurt sauce (not too much, or it will get soggy!), and the bread topping.
