Apple-horseradish cheese spread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g cream cheese, light if desired
  • 250 g sheep’s cheese
  • 250 g red Cheddar cheese
  • 3 tsp horseradish
  • 1 apple (Elstar apple), but also other slightly sour apple varieties
  • 100 g bacon cubes

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

First, fry the bacon cubes either in a pan or in a suitable container in the microwave at 600W for 2-3 minutes, then let them cool quickly. At the same time, wash the apple, core it, cut it into large pieces, and coarsely grate it with the peel. In a 3-liter bowl, use a fork to break up the feta cheese, then add the cream cheese, horseradish, and grated apple and stir. Next, coarsely grate the Cheddar cheese and add it to the bowl with the other ingredients. Stir everything together, then add the cooled, rendered bacon and stir again. The spread will easily keep for 2 weeks in a sealed container in the refrigerator. I’ve also tried this version with finely chopped smoked salmon. To do this, add 200g of salmon to the total ingredients, but then add 2-3 teaspoons more horseradish.
