Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g oat flakes, fine
  • 200 g oat flakes, wholegrain
  • 100 g sunflower seeds
  • 50 g flaxseed
  • 50 g coconut flakes
  • Chia seeds, optional
  • 50 g sesame seeds
  • 250 ml honey or maple syrup
  • 10 tbsp oil, neutral (e.g. sunflower oil, Omega-3)
  • Raisins or dried cranberries, figs or apple rings
  • Hazelnuts or walnuts, almond flakes, etc.

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

The quantities are for two standard baking sheets and make approximately 2 large storage jars. Combine the oat and grain mixture in a large bowl. Adjust the ingredients to your liking. You can also add a portion of chia seeds, for example. Mix together oil and honey or maple syrup. Heat half of each in a pan and stir in half of the grain mixture until small lumps form. Preheat oven to 150°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the entire mixture evenly. Bake for approximately 20-30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Shortly before the end of the baking time, stir in the dried fruit and any nuts you like. Vary as you like. I really like this recipe because it allows us to avoid the sugar traps that are common in commercial muesli. Of course, any fresh fruit works as a topping.
