Spaghetti with ham and tomato sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g spaghetti
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 250 g bacon cubes
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 500 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tsp vegetable stock powder
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, lighter
  • 2 tbsp Italian herbs
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • some milk as desired

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Dice the onion and garlic. Fry the bacon in a non-stick pan, add the onion and garlic, and more oil if desired. Sauté for a while, then add the tomato paste and fry briefly. Now add the passata, vegetable stock powder, and balsamic vinegar and simmer for about 5 minutes. Add the herbs only now so they don’t overcook. Season to taste with a little salt, pepper, and sugar. If desired, add a splash of milk to the sauce.
