Cheesy potatoes with poultry

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g potatoes, waxy
  • 500 g turkey breast or chicken breast
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 300 ml chicken stock
  • 300 ml milk
  • 100 g cheese (Gouda), grated
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Boil the potatoes for about 20 minutes, let cool, peel, and slice. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces, sear in oil, season with salt and pepper, and remove from the pan. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Melt the butter in the frying fat and sauté the flour in it. Deglaze with stock and milk. Bring to a boil and season with salt and pepper. Add about 1/3 of the cheese to the sauce. Place the potatoes and meat in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over the meat and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 20 minutes.
