Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
for a casserole dish
Cut a thin lid off each hot dog bun lengthwise and hollow out the buns. Allow the inside to dry and use it, for example, in meatballs. Place the buns next to each other in a baking dish and spread with a little herb butter. Bake in an oven preheated to 160°C (fan oven) for about 5 minutes on the middle rack. In the meantime, fry the diced onion and garlic in a little oil. Add the tomato paste and fry briefly. Stir in the minced meat and fry. Then add the chopped tomatoes and simmer until thickened. Finally, season to taste. It’s a kind of Bolognese. Fill the hollowed-out buns with this minced meat sauce and sprinkle with diced fresh tomatoes and a little grated cheese. Bake the buns in the oven again at 160°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes on the middle rack. Served with a colorful salad, this is a meal for 4 people. Hungry eaters sometimes eat two rolls.
