Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 ciabatta
  • 250 g butter
  • ½ cup basil (frozen), thawed
  • ½ cup parsley (frozen), thawed
  • ½ cup chives (frozen), thawed
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper(s), yellow
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ½ tsp, leveled salt
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • 1 package of salami
  • 1 package of cooked ham
  • 1 small can of tuna in its own juice
  • 1 small jar of mushrooms

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Baked ciabatta

Cut the ciabattas evenly lengthwise. Place the butter in a small bowl. Mix in the herbs, crushed garlic, and salt with a fork. Spread the homemade herb butter evenly between all four halves using a knife. Slice the tomatoes, thinly strip the peppers, and finely slice the onions. Top the bread with sausage, vegetables, tuna, and mushrooms as desired. Finally, top with cheese slices. Place the filled ciabattas on a rack or baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan oven) for about 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is nicely melted and the sides are lightly browned.
