Schnitzel in red wine cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of pork schnitzel
  • some flour
  • Fat for frying
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 200 ml red wine, dry
  • 200 ml meat broth
  • 200 ml sweet cream
  • 1 tbsp sauce thickener, dark
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Pound the pork cutlets, season with salt and pepper, and coat in flour. Brown well on both sides, turning occasionally. Add a finely chopped garlic clove and the bay leaf to the pan. Deglaze with red wine, then stir in the meat broth and sweet cream. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the sauce has reduced slightly. Thicken with a little dark sauce thickener. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
