Baked lumberjack bread

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • some herb cream cheese
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 2 small onions
  • 4 slices of cheese (Gouda)
  • some salt and pepper
  • some thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

a hearty warm snack

Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven) and add a little oil to a hot pan. Peel and finely chop the onions, and fry them in the pan. Season with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, spread the bread thinly with the herb cream cheese. Then place the ham on top. Distribute the fried onions on the ham sandwiches. Then place the cheese on the bread. Season again with pepper and a little thyme. Place the sandwiches in the oven for about 5 minutes, until the cheese has melted. Serve immediately.
