Bifteki with sheep cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 sprigs of mint, fresh
  • 600 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg

  • cumin
  • Salt and pepper from the mill
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Place the breadcrumbs in a bowl and crack the eggs over them, mixing everything thoroughly. Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Rinse the mint, shake dry, and finely slice. Knead with the minced meat, spices, onion, and garlic until smooth. Season generously with salt and pepper. Divide the minced meat dough into 8 equal portions and shape into flat patties. Cut the feta cheese into 8 long sticks. Place each in the center of a patty. Wrap the meat around it and, with moistened hands, shape into long rolls. Heat olive oil in a pan and fry the rolls until browned, turning occasionally. Serve with tzatziki, crispy fries, and a mixed salad, if desired.
