Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g sausage (fresh ham sausage), in one piece
  • 300 g cheese (Emmental), in one piece
  • 6 cucumber(s) pickled gherkins
  • 1 small jar of onion(s) (shell onions)
  • 1 small jar of tomato peppers
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • Vinegar
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Cucumber juice
  • Maggi

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Cut the ham sausage and Emmental cheese into thin strips and place in a bowl. Slice the gherkins and add them. Drain the shallots and the sliced ​​tomato and pepper, dice the peeled onion, and then mix everything together. Season to taste with salt, pepper, Maggi, and the gherkin juice. Cover and let the salad sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 day. Before serving, fold everything in thoroughly and season again if desired. Cut the chives into small rings and scatter over the salad. Finally, top with wafer-thinly sliced ​​onion rings, if desired.
