Mulled cherry liqueur

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 liters of cherry juice
  • 300 g sugar
  • 1 liter of mulled wine or cherry mulled wine
  • n. B. Cinnamon powder
  • n. B. Carnation(s)
  • n. B. Allspice
  • 300 ml Amaretto
  • 700 ml rum

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

First, put the juice and sugar in a saucepan (often only nectar is available; then reduce the sugar to taste). Bring to a boil until the sugar has dissolved and turn off the heat. Now add the mulled wine and, if desired, spices from a spice bag and let it steep until the desired intensity is reached. For a strong mulled wine, you may not need any spices at all; for pure cherry or red wine, let it steep for at least one to two hours. Finally, remove the spices, then add the Amaretto and rum. If necessary, stir in the rum gradually, tasting occasionally to ensure it is not too strong. Pour into hot, rinsed bottles. If tightly closed, the liqueur will keep for several months.
