Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 700 g minced beef
  • 400 ml tomatoes, pureed
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • n. B. Paprika powder, sweet
  • 600 g onion(s), sliced
  • 100 ml balsamic vinegar
  • some honey
  • 6 burger buns
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 6 tomatoes, sliced
  • 200 g gherkins, sliced
  • 12 slices of bacon
  • 200 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Fry the minced meat until crumbly and add the passata. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper, and reduce slightly. Fry the onions separately until golden brown. Deglaze with balsamic vinegar, add a little honey, and reduce to a syrupy consistency. Cut open the burger buns and spread a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise on the inside of the lids. Cut the underside of the buns into cubes and line the bottom of a large baking dish with them. Spread the minced meat sauce on top, arrange the tomatoes and cucumbers on top. Distribute the onions and add the bacon slices. Sprinkle half of the cheese on top, then place the bun lids on top, and then sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in a hot oven at 190°C (top/bottom heat) for 15 minutes.
