quick and tasty

Grease a baking dish. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Tear the rolls into pieces, place them in the dish along with the raisins, and spread them evenly. The top pieces should be crust-side down so that they absorb the liquid better when the milk mixture is poured over them. Whisk the egg yolks and sugar in the milk and pour over the rolls. Let the rolls stand for 5 minutes, then press the mixture down lightly with a spoon. Bake the casserole on the middle rack of the oven for 30 minutes, then increase the temperature to 200°C and bake for another 25 minutes. If the surface gets too dark, cover it with baking paper. Pickled cherries go well with the dish. The amount of sugar is a matter of taste. If you’re feeling daring, you can try the milk, egg, and sugar mixture and add more sugar if desired.
