Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 6 m.-large tomato(s)
  • 3 large garlic cloves
  • 1 piece(s) of ginger root, approx. 1 cm
  • 2 small chili peppers, dried
  • 6 basil leaves
  • 2 pinches of cayenne pepper
  • pepper
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp cream, or crème double

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Score the skin of the tomatoes and briefly place them in boiling water. Peel, remove the stems, chop finely, and place them in a saucepan. Peel the garlic, remove the stems, and chop finely. Peel the ginger and chop finely. Crumble the chili peppers. Add them to the pan with the cream or double cream. Puree the contents of the pan with an immersion blender. Bring the sauce to a boil, add the cayenne pepper, and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Just before serving, stir in the finely chopped basil leaves.
