Gabi's stuffed peppers

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 medium-sized red bell peppers (approx. 720 g)
  • 400 g bratwurst, coarse, raw
  • 125 g cream cheese with peppers in a ring
  • 50 g cheese (smoked cheese), finely diced
  • 3 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 5 tbsp smoky barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp spice mix, spicy or paprika flakes
  • n. B. vegetable oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

with a filling of sausage meat and cream cheese

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Cut the tops off the peppers and remove the seeds and white inner membranes. Squeeze the sausage meat out of the sausages and mix with the remaining ingredients. Salt is not required. Fill the peppers with the sausage meat and put the lid on. Add a little vegetable oil to a baking dish and place the peppers next to each other. Drizzle with a little oil and cook in the oven on the middle rack for about 20-30 minutes. Serve with a delicious salad and some bread or fried potatoes. For big eaters or fewer side dishes, the specified amount may be enough for only two servings.
